Charlie's twin sister Ellen says he's been No. 1 in most things, but not birth order. She's older by 20 minutes. Until they were 15 years old, the two went everywhere together and shared the same friends growing up in Toledo. (No, they didn't grow up wearing traditional German outfits. These were gifts to the four-year-old twins from Uncle Ernist and Aunt Mamie Tiedtke.)

The second step for CTB was Marriage and Family. In July of 1951, Charlie married Mary and began his own Brumback household.

Charlie and Mary's kids have grown up and have kids of their own. Here, the family got together for Christmans in Woodstock in 1990.
